Campaign Greeter

Ashleigh got to be a greeter recently for Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney after one of his events here in Ohio.

It was very exciting as we were waiting on the tarmac right in front of the plane.  Night was falling when we saw the lights on the police cars in the distance.  Next came the roar of the motorcycles as the motorcade pulled in and the bus parked right in front of us.  It took a few minutes for the doors to open as the personnel got into place.

When the door opened Mitt Romney came out and went right up to Ash and said Ashleigh thanks a lot for coming out to see him.  He was very nice and very genuine.  He also signed a bumper sticker for Ashleigh and others for her brothers.

It was windy and had started to rain and Gov. Romney apologized to Ashleigh for her having to wait out in the bad weather but she didn’t seem to mind as she was very excited.  Luckily it was very warm and we had her bundled up well.  After Gov. Romney boarded the plane, Senator Portman came over and spoke with us as well.  He too is very nice and very down to earth.

Thanks to everyone for pulling this together for Ashleigh, we really appreciate it

The Governor’s bus driver Glenn kept us company while we had to wait for the plane to take off before the gate could be opened.

  4. I suffered a TBI in November of 98 at the age of 16 years. I was driving over corrected my blazer and flipped the vehicle 2 or 3 times i dont remember the day of the accident…lost my girlfriend, 2 of my friends, which were her cousins and luckily me and my late girlfriends brother survived.

For 15 years now, I have felt as if i have not been normal since. From my accident, i suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and my hyperthalmus was hemmorging and i was in a coma for a month… had to learn to do everything again… from eating, walking, etc. and the doctors diagnosis at the ER was wheelchair bound, paralization etc. Anyways, point is…. Somehow i survived and recovered, I would have to say from my opinon 75%. Which, its hard to tell as I have walked around with the “Im ok” syndrome for 15 years now.

After reading about ashleigh , i hit the floor and weeped for 15 minutes as i feel I have been really really selfish As i am 30 years old now, jobless still living with parents struggling to make money to make ends meet. Consistently, going in circles with all things I attempt or plan to do. I stumbled this site on my search for disability paperwork. However, I will never, ever play the victim or feel as if i am at a disadvantage again. I may be broke, I may be hungry,…But none of that matters now. God left me here for a reason and im trusting he will provide. Im quite certain he didnt leave me able to do all these things just to settle for a disability check at age 30… even though i could probably receive these benefits and i have family members pushing me to try to get it….

God bless you and your family as you will now be in my prayers for as long as im on this earth. Let me tell you, God left her here for a reason. The lord works in mysterious ways just as my life will be forever changed tonight as i learned about Ashleigh.

Mr Szabo,, will you please email me at (edited) when or if you get the chance I would like to ask you a few questions. Thank you and God bless you.
    love
