Hope Everyone Voted

Hope everyone was able to get out and vote on Tuesday. Whether your candidates won or lost, casting your vote is very important. Below are a couple of pics of Ashleigh at the polls. She has not missed an election since her accident. If she can do it, the rest of us don’t have any excuses.
Voting for the disabled is a priority in most states and is very easy. Because of Ashleigh’s motor skill issues I filled out her ballot for her after she gave me the signal for which candidate or choice she wanted. I think she is very proud to be part of the process.

hi! my name is Cindy and my husband Mike was in a motorcycle accident on March 2,2007—had to think about the year there for a minute. Mike has come a long way. But we are still coping, just like Ashlie.Thank you for telling your family story. It helps to know that there are more tbi survivors out there—i wish i was more computer savy. My name is Lyn and my cousin Kimberly had a TBI last year and is doing great! Miracles happen!! I am so encouraged to read your blog, and pray for Ashleigh’s continued recovery. She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful spirit that shines brightly! I kmow that God has big plans for your girl.

Almost thirteen years ago, Roger Rizzo was riding on the back of a motorcycle and was involved in a horrendous accident. Roger’s body hit scores of rocks and boulders as he was falling down the cliff side. He came to a stop 12 feet above the cold San Francisco Bay. Roger was airlifted by police helicopter to the hospital. He remained hospitalized for over six months.
As a result of this accident, Roger Rizzo’s life changed entirely. He has chronicled his life before the accident; the horrible event itself; his numerous injuries, including massive brain injury; his recovery; the far-reaching volunteer work in which he has been invovled in for many years; and his thoughts on what is now the purpose of life and why. This book is entitled “An Almost Fatal Miracle – Realizing Reality” by Roger Daniel Rizzo.
It is his wish to give other people who have suffered horrible accidents encouragement through his own life experiences. It is his wish to have his book read by many people who are going through the struggles of rehabilitating themselves as he did. It is his wish to have his book read by those family members and care givers so that they also may be encouraged.
In conjunction with Roger Rizzo’s book “An Almost Fatal Miracle – Realizing Reality”, Roger has created a website that shows what he has done so that others may learn and be encouraged from his injuries.

I was just researching medications with TBI's. & came upon your web site. I was diagnosed 13 months ago with a TBI. It has been a long tough, experience for my family, friends & myself.
I was in a motor vrhicle accident 12/24/2006 and am 37 years old living on my own.
I just wanted to say a quick Merry Christmas too you & your family.

I am the mother of a 22 year old who was in a motorcycle accident Nov. 2006. He was such a happy person–you have to know GOD has to have a plan but I wish we understood what that plan is. My son is doing better-but still has obstacles to overcome. I will add all of you to my prayers and thank you Ashleigh for sharing your story. You are already spreading cheer to people you don’t even know.
Hello, I came across your heroic story as I was looking for more information on TBI to help my son -ZAYD cope up with the same, who is five years old. He met with an off-road accident on 28th Nov and has still not come out of coma. Your story provided me the courage to face the truth and prepare myself mentaly for the road ahead.
