Poor Old Reggie…

Ashleigh’s English Mastiff Reggie has passed away. The life span for a Mastiff is 8-10 years but Reggie lived to be about 13 years old. Even though it was time it is still upsetting. Ashleigh cried for Reggie who we had since he was a baby.

Reggie was having a lot of trouble with his hips and it got to the point where we decided we were going to have to have him put to sleep. It got so bad that he could not even support his weight at times to stand up. Before we could take him to the vet he passed away over the weekend.

Reggie was such a big baby his whole life. All he wanted was to be with us. When you went to another room he would get up and follow you and then lay back down at your feet. Sometimes on your feet. He was also a leaner. He loved to lean up against you. The problem is he out-weighed everybody in the family.

We got Ashleigh a Bichon Frise / Poodle mix about a year ago so that the little dog could be with her more than Reggie. Reggie even though he would have relished it, was too big to get in her bed or sit on her lap in her wheelchair. We hope little Sophie will help Ash get over losing Reggie.

Hello Ashleigh, you are sweet, I was surfing the net for head injury.
I got one about two months ago, and took a chance calling the number for some help.
I was amazed a very nice person giving me some encouragement to get some help.
I then went on the site to see more.
You have a nice family and friends, you are helping people with your site.
    it helped me a lot.
    Thank you.
Reggie could not live a more complete life. He is in heaven now you know he left on a rainbow path to heaven.
You could tell he was happy never sad.
thank you again to you and family and friends.

    Dear Ashleigh,

So sorry about Reggie. I have an English Mastiff also, his name is Smoochie. They are wonderful animals and I’m sure yours was your best loving buddy in the world. I have also suffered from TBI. One year ago I was in a severe motorcycle accident. I was not expected to survive. Well I fooled them all. It has made a very dramatic change in my life. I am glad that I did find your web space on this subject. I did not find it until about 8 months after my accident, but it does have very useful information. I do disagree on some of what is on there, but that just may be because of the facility I was in. Anyway again very sorry about Reggie, and I will give Smoochie a hug for you. All the best and keep trying. I know at times it is not the easiest thing to do but sometimes you can even surprise yourself. Take care.
